Suzanne Robins, Chair of PIUG:

I’m Suzanne Robins, and on behalf of the PIUG, I’d like to say how delighted we are to be co-hosting this dinner tonight in honor of our colleague and friend, Harry Allcock.

The evening will begin with a 20-minute ceremony and presentation of the 2007 International Patent Information Award to Harry.  The Award itself is sponsored by Technology & Patent Research International.   Dinner will be served immediately following the ceremony.

But first, a few words from our co-hosts, Wolters Kluwer Health.

Paul Wituschek, Global Sales Director, Wolters Kluwer Health:

Good Evening.  My name is Paul Wituschek, Global Sales Director at Wolters Kluwer Health.

IFI Patent Intelligence, a division of WKH, is pleased to be co-sponsoring this dinner with PIUG this evening.   I want to extend a warm welcome to all of you and thank you for joining us on the occasion of this celebration of the 2007 IPI Award recipient.

WKH and IFI would like to thank those of you who nominated Harry Allcock for this prestigious award, and to the IPI Board for selecting Harry as the 2007 award recipient.  We are very proud of Harry’s contributions to IFI, and thank you again for this recognition.

I have the privilege of working with the current IFI Patent Intelligence staff, and the honor to introduce Harry, a former IFI staff member, who was instrumental in the development of IFI's enhanced US patent databases, and related products and services.   I understand that Harry had a way of bringing people in the patent community together through parties that were heavy on liquids. So, please raise your glass, and together let's send a toast of congratulations to Harry Allcock, the 2007 IPI Award recipient!   Let “Harry’s Party” begin!

I’d now like to hand over to the IPI-Award Board to proceed with the ceremony.

Trudi Jones, on behalf of IPI-Award Sponsors, Technology & Patent Research (TPR) International, Inc.:

Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen.  My name is Trudi Jones of TPR International, and on behalf of everyone here, I’d like to express our sincere thanks to Wolters Kluwer Health and to the PIUG for being our gracious hosts tonight.

The International Patent Information Award was created to acknowledge the significant achievements of individuals and their service towards the advancement of patent information.  We are here to honor the achievements of Harry Allcock, to present the Award, and to hear from Harry himself.

To start the proceedings, I’d like to ask Ford Khorsandian, President of Technology & Patent Research, to introduce the members of the IPI-Award International Selection Board; this will be followed by Darlene Slaughter, General Manager of IFI Patent Intelligence, to talk about Harry’s contribution to patent information.
